![]() ![]() The Stanford researchers tried to identify domains where expertise was highly valued and complex, such as diagnosing infectious diseases ( Mycin) and identifying unknown organic molecules ( Dendral). Įxpert systems were formally introduced around 1965 by the Stanford Heuristic Programming Project led by Edward Feigenbaum, who is sometimes termed the "father of expert systems" other key early contributors were Bruce Buchanan and Randall Davis. These expert systems in medicine were the MYCIN expert system, the INTERNIST-I expert system and later, in the middle of the 1980s, the CADUCEUS. This previous situation gradually led to the development of expert systems, which used knowledge-based approaches. ![]() Formal introduction & later developments However, researchers realized that there were significant limitations when using traditional methods such as flow charts, statistical pattern matching, or probability theory. These systems were often described as the early forms of expert systems. ![]() These early diagnostic systems used patients’ symptoms and laboratory test results as inputs to generate a diagnostic outcome. ![]() For example, biomedical researchers started creating computer-aided systems for diagnostic applications in medicine and biology. Thus, in the late 1950s, right after the information age had fully arrived, researchers started experimenting with the prospect of using computer technology to emulate human decision making. The medical/healthcare field presented the tantalizing challenge of enabling these machines to make medical diagnostic decisions. One of the first challenges was to make such machines capable of “thinking” like humans – in particular, making these machines capable of making important decisions the way humans do. Soon after the dawn of modern computers in the late 1940s and early 1950s, researchers started realizing the immense potential these machines had for modern society. 1.3 Current approaches to expert systems.1.2 Formal introduction & later developments. ![]() ![]() Open your VirtualBox installation and click on New. You can find it at forum, although you will have to be registered in the forum to download it. Legacy 10.6.8 kernel – the same as previous, if you are updating to 10.6.8 you will need a 10.6.8 kernel. Mac OS X 10.6.8 update combo v1.1 – if your retail DVD is not the latest version of Snow Leopard (10.6.8), download the combo file directly from Apple. If you have an Intel i3, i5 or i7 CPU, download “iBoot Ivy Bridge 1.0.0″ or latest. For Core 2 Duo Intel processors you should download “iBoot 3.3.0″. If you have a Pentium 4 or another single core processor, I think you have to download “iBoot Legacy 2.7.2″. You can download it from here (tonymacx86 forum – you have to register). IBoot – for booting up Snow Leopard on the Virtual machine, since the retail DVD iso’s are not capable of booting themselves. There are some modifications out there by the Hazard team, but I have had so much trouble during installations that I suggest the original (or a copy) of the retail DVD’s. ![]() ![]() Mac OS X – I suggest to buy an original retail DVD of Snow Leopard, but for testing, you can google for Snow Leopard retail DVD torrent. The only downside so far is that it seems you won't be able to set screen resolutions outside of 640×480, 800×600, 1024×768, 1280×10×900. With this method your Mac OS virtual machine will be more reliable, and you will be able to do basic things from the Operating System such as reboots, shutdowns and the simple "About my Mac". In this post I will show another way of installing Snow Leopard in Virtualbox, but using the EFI method. Unfortunately that method causes a lot of kernel panics and is not reliable because sometimes it boots successfully, sometimes it doesn't. Yesterday I've published a post on how to install Mac OS X – Snow Leopard - in Virtualbox 4.2 using external boot loaders. ![]() Installing Mac OS X on Virtualbox 4.2 EFI Method ![]() ![]() ![]()
![]() PSLTSCALEĬontrols the Paperspace Linetype scale and allows all viewports to represent geometry at the same scale on paper irrespective of viewport scale. If you’re working with multiple scales in your viewports, use the PSLTSCALE to control the scale of your linetypes’ and LTSCALE to control the linetypes in Modelspace. If the final drawing will be displayed at 1:100, use an LTSCALE of 100. Note: The Linetype scale is usually best matched to the scale of your drawing. You will be prompted:Ī value can be entered for your Linetype scale. To change the LTSCALE for a drawing, type “ LTSCALE” into the command line. In the image, the same linetype is used for each line with different LTSCALE for each line. This can allow you to present your drawings at multiple scales while maintaining the linestyles’ appearance. In order to adjust the presentation of a linetype, use linetype scaling or LTSCALE and PSLTSCALE. It is not possible to save a drawing with the Isolate active. Isolate will always be cancelled when closing a drawing. Without Isolate active, the Isolate button will display a yellow bulb. To cancel Isolate, click the Isolate button and choose End object isolation. When Isolate is active, the Isolate button on the AutoCAD Status Bar will show a red bulb. To isolate objects, select the objects you wish to show on the screen, right-click and choose Isolate > Isolate objectsĪll objects selected will remain and any other objects will be hidden. While working on files, it can be beneficial to be able to hide objects from the screen without turning any layers off. The objects remain on the same layer but are displayed with different linetypes. To change the linetype of an individual object, select the object and change the linetype from the Ribbon Home tab > Properties panel, click the Linetype drop-down. Select the linetype you wish to use and click OK. The linetype will be added to the list of available linetypes in the Select Linetype dialog box. To add a new linetype, click Load… and select the desired linetype from the list. The Select Linetype dialog box will be displayed.īy default all layers are created with a continuous linetype. To change the linetype of a layer, from the Ribbon Home tab > Layers panel, click the Layer Properties button.Ĭlick the linetype of the layer you wish to change. Linetypes change the way geometry is displayed in AutoCAD and can be controlled either by layer or by an individual object’s properties. ![]() |
